The 2018 Masters Tournament: He is, to me, at the moment, one of the top 5 players in the world
And, within that top 5, he is the one in best form.
Rosy, like he is also known, is the favourite of practically every expert prediction that I had the chance to read. And he is my favourite here as well.
Winner – The Masters
Justin Rose, English 37 years old
Currently occupies 5th place of the World Rankings
Yes, I know what you’re thinking. When everyone is on the same horse, he usually falls.
Still, I don’t think that will happen this time, and I’ll explain why:
Justin Rose is the current Olympic champion and has already won a Major.
He is going through a great moment of form, having reached 13 Top 10 on the last 16 tournaments he has participated on, including 3 victories.
I should highlight that these 16 tournaments are during the time period between the last Major played (PGA Championship, where he missed the cut) and today.
I don’t really care about the fact that his worst place during those 16 tournaments was precisely the 52nd place obtained on the past weekend at the Houston Open, because these pre-major tournaments tend to be approached as a warm-up for the Major.
Then we also have his historical record on this tournament, and that is mind-blowing. Last year, Rose lost on the play-off to Sergio Garcia, while he also finished in 2nd place on the 2015 edition.
In 2016, he finished in 10th place. I should highlight that, on the 12 Masters he has played, the worst place he got was a 39th spot (on his debut, in 2003). Of those 12 Masters, he finished on the top 15 on 7 occasions.
Quote from: Justin Rose
I’ve played in the last group a couple times now and really have enjoyed it.
I’ve been very close. I go into Augusta with no feeling of redemption or revenge or anything like that.
I’ve had my chances. Listen, you’re going to have some heartache. You can’t be out here 20 years and not have near-misses, and that was one of them last year.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to win a major, win a gold medal, a few cool things
Quote from: Paul McGinley
“He’s playing better now than he ever has. Some guys mature later in life than others, and Justin is certainly a guy who’s trending later in life.
Some guys take a while to figure themselves out, and Justin is becoming more and more confident because he’s learning about himself. His best years are ahead of him.”
The 2018 Masters Tournament – Betting Tip and Prediction:
This sort of courses benefits the all-around players who can control their tee-shot well.
The experience and knowledge are also very important here, and, as people usually say, Justin Rose “checks all the boxes” needed.
His moment of form, the course’s characteristics and his historical record here all line up for the great performance that I’m expecting from him
