Going into this 7th round of Group B, we have the leader and the 5th place facing off, Switzerland and Andorra, respectively.
Andorra: This is a decisive match for the Andorrans who, if they lose, will be almost mathematically out of the World Cup (although we already knew that was going to happen, with all the respect for the team).
As for the Swiss, if they don’t win, they could see Portugal closing the gap between them in the top of this group B.
On the previous match between both team, the Swiss have won 1-2 in Andorra, on a poor performance from the visitors, who only got a tangential win.
As many of you might already have noticed, Switzerland don’t have the potential of the Portuguese team, having only a group of players well managed by Petkovic.
That form a good set of individual personalities, originating a good group that, this way, has been able to have an interesting campaign in this qualification stage, winning every match.
But never getting any excellent performances (with a good example being the match they won in Andorra). However, they still sit on top of this group B.
From the Andorrans’ side, the team has shown some improvements over the course of their last matches, showing they are not as easy to beat as they once were (even on this qualification stage, against Hungary and Portugal), just like we could also see against Switzerland at home.
However, they are still a team with a lot of weaknesses on several levels and that still has a lot of work ahead of them in the next years, in order to improve their level and ability to face off against higher level National teams.
Switzerland hasn’t impressed with their latest results and even performances (in a group with Faroe Islands and Latvia.
It is strange that they’ve only scored 12 goals in 6 matches, in a certain way), struggling to beat weaker teams (they were never able to win by more than 2 goals), even playing at home.
Switzerland vs Andorra Betting Tip and Prediction:
Against an Andorra side that is showing signs of improvement on their ability and because of all the other facts I presented.
I don’t expect a high-scoring match here, but rather a less comfortable win from the Swiss (2-0 or 3-0 eventually).
