Swansea vs Wolves – FA Cup: The first encounter between teams managed by Portuguese managers on the FA Cup
One of the competitions with more history in football, ended with a draw, on January 6th.
That will allow another meeting between Carlos Carvalhal and Nuno Espírito Santo, this time, in Wales, with Swansea looking for a result that would allow them to advance on this competition.
The two managers know each other very well, since they started the season in the same league.
Carlos Carvalhal was going for his 3rd season at Sheffield Wednesday, but the inability to accomplish the same level he had managed to accomplish in the two previous seasons, where he took the team to the play-offs, have resulted on his departure.
Luckily, for Carvalhal, he then had the chance to reach the Premier League, with his good work being recognized.
Having had the best possible debut, with a win at Watford, Swansea has lost with the Spurs and then drew with Newcastle in the matches played so far with Carvalhal in charge. The FA Cup works as another opportunity for the team to continue gaining confidence.
For Wolverhampton, their main focus is achieving promotion. Nuno Espírito Santo’s team is, inclusively, seen as a team that is above the level they are competing on,
considering the fact they have a 10-points advantage over the 2nd place of the Championship and a 12-points advantage over the first team outside the promotion zone.
That objective isn’t ensured but they’re on track to accomplish it. Adding a good run in the FA Cup to that would only value the work that is being made at Wolves even more.
Swansea vs Wolves – Betting Tip and Prediction:
If on January 6th, both teams have made some rotation on their starting line-ups, it is expected for them to the same here,
although Swansea has more days to rest until their next match and their schedule (with receptions to Liverpool and Arsenal) almost forces them to get a positive result here in order to gain some confidence to face those quality opponents next.
