Something I noticed in this period of pandemic is that many people are trying to understand a little more about sports betting and doing their first operations in the market to see if they like the activity or not.
SPORTS BETTOR: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
And I will write here some of the doubts that I answer daily, and what assessment I make of all this. First of all let’s go to the emails that reach me:
I have selected the 5 questions that I receive the most and I will make a small summary about the answers for each one of them. These are complex questions that deserve an individual article for each one. But today we will answer them in a single article and in a succinct and direct way.
First of all, I want to say that we are going through an unusual moment and this can cause thought conflicts about what life will be like from now on.
And the fact that we stay at home in quarantine makes us look for quick answers for everything. And many times these answers are not that quick, like in the case of sports betting.
And throwing everything up and wanting to live from a variable income market may not be the best option at first. And that’s what I always alert to those who ask me.
Having said that, let’s go to the answers for the questions that I most answer as doubts:
1- I SAW AN AD ABOUT SPORTS BETTING AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE INFORMATION ABOUT IT?
Many people come to sports betting through an advertisement and imagine that knowing about football is enough to succeed as a bettor. Not so, and the bookmakers know how to make things difficult for bettors who understand football.
At first, we don’t think so, but with time we see that we need much more than just knowledge about the sport. Therefore, sports betting is a mix of variable income, management and business administration.
However, it is very difficult to achieve success and needs a lot of study and dedication. If you want to earn money from one day to the next, don’t start…. you will lose much more than you will win. Study first, read articles from people who have reached there and evaluate if this is really what you want.
2- HOW MUCH DOES A SPORTSBOOKER EARN?
A sports bettor never knows how much he will win. We are in a variable income market and the same way we can win, we can also lose.
Think about closing a positive period.
And if that positive value is enough to cover your living costs, great.
3- I WANT TO LEAVE MY JOB TO LIVE AS A SPORTS BETTOR
I wouldn’t advise doing that. I suggest that you have your job as a main activity and sports betting as a parallel income. Don’t think about impulsive decisions and use time in your favor.
Be sure that a lot will happen and give you answers. Just keep studying and focus on being better every day.
However, changing professions without a structure behind, both financial and operational, is not the right thing to do.
4- WHAT’S THE AMOUNT I NEED TO START BETTING IN ORDER TO MAKE MONEY?
I advise not to use money in the beginning. Because you will be in a learning phase. And you will certainly lose money in this period if you put money in it.
Work with notes and simulations of bets. We call it Paper Bet.
It is a safe option to learn and not to lose. In this start, it is fundamental.
5- HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR ME TO BECOME A PROFITABLE BETTOR?
That differs from person to person. In my time there we didn’t have a lot of information. In a way it wasn’t bad, because today we have so much information that even confuses who is starting.
But if you follow a correct line of reasoning, I believe that 2 seasons or 2 years would be enough. In other words, one year would be to learn the concepts, testing methods and aligning bankroll management. And the second year would be to put the operational in practice and start to acquire market experience.
I answer several questions and I can say that many people have started in sports betting for being at home at this moment. Unfortunately, that idea of making money with football games just sitting on the sofa, still comes to unaware people.
And many get into this and lose money, then leave saying that sports betting is just a waste of time. What else can we do?
Those who are interested in getting to know more deeply or talk to people who really support their living costs with the aspects of the profession, will understand that it is difficult, but it is possible.
The problem is that people without knowledge or dishonest arrive first and take beginners to wrong paths.
So that’s it, guys! I would like to pass on the most frequent doubts at this moment we are going through and also the answers to them. And if any of you have some of these doubts, there are my tips and suggestions.
I hope you like it, a big hug and filter ideas.
