Spartak Moscow vs PAOK – UEFA Champions League :Spartak Moscow is a team that has some experience on European competitions
They alternate between Champions League and the Europa League. Last season, they failed to win the title, finishing in 3rd place of the league and therefore having to play on this qualification stage.
This year they have shown they aren’t a team that scores a lot in terms of goals and that can be a problem if the goals don’t start appearing quickly.
Spartak Moscow started the match in Greece really well, and they were already winning by 2-0 at the 20 minutes, but they’ve allowed the Greeks to comeback and eventually lost that encounter by 3-2.
Midweek, they’ve played in the league, hosting Anzhi and on a somewhat complicated match, they were finally able to win it by 1-0.
They now play a very important match here, with the club having the clear objective of qualifying onto the Champions League’s group stage.
PAOK: The Greeks are one of the good teams of the Greek league and despite not having won the title last year, in general they actually did pretty well. This year, they are contenders to winning the title and withstanding Olympiakos and AEK.
The roster is reasonable, and we have to say that this team has done pretty well on the previous round of the Champions League, leaving behind Basel with wins by 2-1 at home and by expressive 3-0 away from home.
These victories gave the Greeks a lot of confidence, that also started off very badly on the 1st leg encounter, where they started off nervous and feeling the pressure of the encounter a little bit,
but they’ve loosened up and managed to come back from 0-2 down to 3-2 up, on an excellent turnaround. Right now, they only need a draw, but the knockout tie is still wide open.
Spartak Moscow vs PAOK – Betting Tip and Prediction:
It will be complicated for PAOK to stop Spartak Moscow at home. The Russians haven’t even been able to score a lot of goals lately,
but playing at home, on a tie like this and a decisive one, where they just need to win, things are very simple, and I believe that PAOK, having less experienced players and being a less experienced team, will end up not withstanding the pressure and losing this match.
In my opinion, the Russians have a roster with more quality and solutions and I see them in a pragmatical and objective way, winning this match and advancing onto the Champions League’s play-offs.
I don’t believe that PAOK will provide us another surprise after knocking out Basel.
With more or less difficulty, the result of this match and the tie should go in favour of the Russians that play at home.
