Southampton vs Brighton – Premier League: In one of the matches that takes place this Wednesday in England, counting towards the Premier League’s 20th round
The local side Southampton and the visiting side Brighton face off in the city of Southampton, at the St. Mary’s Stadium,
on a match between two teams that will meet for the 2nd time this season, with their first encounter finishing with a 1-1 draw, in Brighton.
The home side is in 18th place of the league table, with 22 points, while the visiting side is in 16th place with 23 points conquered.
The home side is making their worst campaign since they managed to achieve promotion to the Premier League 5 years ago, not following up the excellent campaigns that they have managed to achieve on the English league.
In my opinion, the departure of some important players doesn’t tell the full story, with the manager Pellegrino also deserving some of the blame,
he that has failed once again on a team with more ambitious objectives, like it had happened in Valencia. I don’t understand how he still has his job, considering he hasn’t won in the league for months.
The team has one of the worst offensive records of the competition and they haven’t won since November 26th.
As for the visiting side, they are making a campaign more or less within what was expected, given their recent promotion, coming off a less positive streak of results now that has made the team drop on the league table.
The team, having the 2nd worst offensive record of the competition, is winless for 5 matches in the Premier League.
Southampton vs Brighton – Betting Tip and Prediction:
Between two teams that play more defensive focused football (just like their records show) and that are on a somewhat delicate position, I believe we will have a match without many goals.
