Shakhtar Donetsk vs Roma – UEFA Champions League : In one of two matches taking place this Wednesday at the Champions’ League 8th finals
The local side Shakhtar Donetsk and the visiting side AS Roma face off in the city of Kharkiv, at the Metalist Stadium,
on a match between two teams that will meet once again after already having met on the same round of the competition, in 2011, with the Ukrainians winning 6-2 on that tie back then.
The home side is making a remarkable campaign so far, probably one of the best ones of the last decades for them,
being in the lead of the Ukrainian league and still managing to remarkably qualify on a very competitive group, with Napoli and Manchester City, being the first team that was able to beat Pep Guardiola’s team this season.
The team doesn’t seem affected by the winter break, at least at first glance, with them getting a dominant 5-0 win over Chernomorets on their return.
As for the visitors, they are making a campaign that I believe can be considered to be globally positive so far, being on the Champions’ League qualification zone and having managed to advance in epic fashion on the Champions League,
when they had in their group teams like Atlético de Madrid or Chelsea, taking advantage of the Spaniards’ weak performance.
The team is on a very positive streak of results so far, at least recently, having managed to win all of their last 3 matches, which put an end to the worst streak of results of the season.
Shakhtar Donetsk vs Roma – Betting Tip and Prediction:
On a tie that is expected to be very balanced and between two teams that are equivalent in terms of quality,
I believe that we will have a balanced match here on this 1st leg, with little to no goals.
