Rio Ave vs Aves: The inaugural match of Liga NOS’ 24th round will be played at Estádio dos Arcos
Miguel Cardoso’s Rio Ave is coming off 2 disastrous matches away from home (at Estádio da Luz and Estádio do Dragão).
In between, they’ve beaten the mediocre Marítimo 3-0, having conceded in those 2 matches 10 (yes, 10!!!) goals, which was embarrassing to say the least.
Rio Ave, on this Liga NOS, is a contender for the Europa League spots. In previous years, they wouldn’t be. They are in 5th place with 36 points and they have 31 goals scored and 31 goals conceded so far.
This team, considering the Portuguese reality, actually has some interesting players and they have the current set piece taker of the moment, Novais.
Aves are already on their 3rd coach of the season, sitting in 13th place with 21 points and a 24-35 goal scoring record.
That record is considerably weak for the roster they have, with some of their players probably being ashamed of the campaign they are making.
Aves will play this match before the cup semi-final against Caldas that will be played in the middle of next week.
It was precisely in Vila do Conde that Aves reached the semi-final, after a 4-4 and a win on “penalties”.
Rio Ave vs Aves – Betting Tip and Prediction:
Tomorrow, both of these teams need points (who doesn’t!?), by different objectives, and I think they didn’t run out of goals on that cup match.
I don’t expect a goal fest, but at least one for each side.
