Real Garcilaso vs Santos – Copa Libertadores : This Thursday, on the 1st round of the Copa Libertadores’ group 6
Real Garcilaso hosts Santos at 22:15 (London time), in Cusco (Peru), at the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega stadium.
REAL GARCILASO: This team is coming off a loss last weekend, in the Peruvian league. Playing away from home, the team ended up being defeated 2-0 by Cantolao.
Their poor start to the season almost forced the departure of the manager Óscar Ibáñez, but he stayed, and he is trying to reach a spot in the Copa Libertadores for the club.
The team doesn’t have any big-name players, but they have the altitude facto as one of their main weapons.
Probable starting line-up REAL GARCILASO: D. Morales, L. Kontogiannis, I. Santillán, J. Arismendi, G. Dulanto, J. Landauri, J. Tragodara, A. Ramúa, L. García and D. Mayora. Manager: Óscar Ibáñez.
SANTOS: The team is on a good moment of form, coming off 3 consecutive victories in the Campeonato Paulista. On the last round, playing at home, they have beaten Santo André by 2-0.
With that streak, the team now has 17 points and is comfortably leading the group D. For their Libertadores’ debut, their main player Gabigol is still doubtful, due to a tackle suffered on the last round.
If they are unable to count with the number 10, Arthur Gomes should be his replacement. That way, Eduardo Sasha, that has been playing on the right wing, would become the centre forward.
Probable starting line-up SANTOS: Vanderlei; Daniel Guedes, Lucas Veríssimo, David Braz e Jean Mota; Alison, Renato e Vecchio; Eduardo Sasha, Copete and (Arthur Gomes) Gabigol. Manager: Jair Ventura.
Real Garcilaso vs Santos – Betting Tip and Prediction:
Technically I see the Peruvian team as the weakest of this group. However, they will have the home advantage here, where the altitude is always an important aspect to take into consideration, especially against Brazilian teams.
As for Santos, they are in good form and they count with a good manager, that has made a good campaign last season with Botafogo.
Even considering the altitude that favours the Peruvian team, I see Santos having good conditions to win here, since they are technically a much stronger team.
I’ll leave two suggestions here: one of them is to take Santos AH +0.25 and the other is, for the braver approach, taking Santos to win.
