Mexico vs Iceland – International Friendly: In one of the several international friendlies taking place this Saturday
Played on neutral ground, in the United States, in the city of Santa Clara (California), at the Levi’s Stadium
The Mexican national team, managed by Juan Carlos Osorio, and the Iceland national team, managed by Heimir Hallgrimsson, with both teams facing off for the 2nd time in the space of roughly a year, after their meeting in February of 2017,
where the Mexicans have won 1-0, on a friendly match.
The team from Central America comes into this preparation match after a practically perfect campaign in terms of their qualification for the World Cup in Russia,
although it is also true that they didn’t exactly face very difficult opponents, except for one or two teams, finishing in 1st place of their qualifiers.
In terms of results, they are coming off a period of some alternation, getting 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss on their last 5 matches, conceding goals in 3 of those 5 matches.
As for the European team, they are continuing their dream campaign of recent years, with their current manager building up on the also excellent job made by Lagerback in charge of the Icelandic team, managing to qualify easier than what was expected, I believe.
The team is also coming off a good streak of results as well, only losing 1 match of the last 7 they’ve played, winning 5 of those same 7 matches.
Mexico vs Iceland – Betting Tip and Prediction:
With two teams that seem to be consistent on the defensive point of view and that should use these friendlies, just like most of the other teams, to test things out and train their playing processes.
I see this match finishing without many goals and being rich especially from the more tactical point of view.
