Champions League: Liverpool travels to Slovenia to face Maribor on a UEFA Champions League’s match…
This was another season that started with very high hopes for Liverpool’s fans. But it is starting to become a nightmare.
Klopp made the signings he wanted and kept Coutinho but the team isn’t performing up to the fans’ expectations. On the Premier League, despite their reasonable start, the team has been struggling.
Only 1 win on their last 5 matches and it was a tough one against Leicester.
That streak of negative results left the Reds in 8th place with 13 points.
That’s already 9 points behind leaders Manchester City and 7 points behind United, which means that any title pretension they had is already becoming sort of an illusion.
On the Champions League, they have 2 draws in 2 matches, against Sevilla and Spartak, which left the team in 2nd place of the group, with 2 points obviously.

Maribor is the ugly duckling of this group. They know they are hardly capable of fighting for the 2nd place of this group and they only have a slim shot at fighting for a 3rd place that would grant them access to the Europa League.
But they are clearly one level behind their opponents. The team already has a long road on this year’s Champions League since the qualifying stage.
They have eliminated Zrinjski Mostar, Hafnarfjordur and then, on the play-off, Hapoel Beer Sheva.
Maribor vs Liverpool – Betting Tip and Prediction:
On the group stage, they tied at home with the Russians and then lost 3-0 in Spain against Sevilla. Liverpool’s favouritism is huge.
But the football they have been showing doesn’t justify this disparity in my opinion. Of course, the Reds should win this match but I expect a close match in Slovenia.
