Manchester City hosts Everton in the 2nd matchday of the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium this Monday.
We are talking about two teams who are at least contending for the Champions League qualification’s spots. Of course, the expectations are bigger on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
This is the season where the Spaniard’s work should start paying off and giving the English club some titles. Last year Pep arrived last minute and had to continue a project he hadn’t designed.
Now he had the time to prepare his ideal roster and took care of the signings for this new season. Speaking of that, City was a bit underwhelming for many of us, who expected them to make more moves on this transfer window.
The team has spent a fair amount of money, spending 50 Million on Bernardo Silva, another 50 on Walker, even another 50 on Mendy and finally 30 Million on Danilo.
These are quality players, but they are lacking a great signing who would inspire the fans and make them believe that things will really change this season.
They started off well, beating Brighton away 2-0 in the 1st matchday of the Premier League.

Manchester City vs Everton Pick:
Everton arrives here still unbeaten on this new season. Between friendlies, Europa League and Premier League, the team from Liverpool is still yet to be defeated.
They had 5 wins and 3 draws so far, with the highlight being their 1-0 win over Stoke on their season debut in this Premier League. The transfer market was bitter and sweet at the same time for Everton.
They have lost their striker and top scorer Lukaku to United on an irrefutable offer. But they saw the return of Rooney to the club who projected him into world football, Everton.
The money coming from the Belgian’s transfer was well spent and Everton has reinforced their squad well.
Klaasen came from Ajax, Pickford from Sunderland, Keane from Burnley and last but definitely not least, Sigurðsson, from Swansea, which was the most expensive one and should make his debut against City.
Everton has an interesting team. I believe we should look closely to this team on this new season. They haven’t shown nothing great so far, but they also haven’t lost yet.
Judging the quality of both sides and what they have shown so far, the match seems closer than what the current odds suggest.
Everton is an experienced side capable of causing City some troubles, even playing in Manchester.
I believe in a match with goals, probably both teams scoring, and I also like the handicaps favouring Everton.
