Everton vs Burnley – Premier League : On the second match of this Sunday afternoon, on the 6th round of the Premier League
Everton will host Burnley at Goodison Park, in Liverpool.
The team managed by Ronald Koeman, Everton, and the visitors, Burnley, managed by Sean Dyche, will play their first match against each other on the current season,
after winning one match each on the 2 times they played last season.
Everton has a long list of injuries, featuring players like Funes Mori, Ross Barkley, Seamus Coleman, Yannick Bolasie, James McCarthy and Phil Jagielka, while Michael Keane is still doubtful for this match.
On the other hand, Burnley will have Dean Marney, Nahki Wells and Tom Heaton unavailable, while Jonathan Walters is still doubtful.
The team from Liverpool goes into this match after having one of the worst starts of the season of their recent history and certainly the worst
since the Dutch manager Ronald Koeman took the coaching job of the “Toffees”, with the team being near the relegation zone and so far, getting less than half of the possible points.
They also have one of the worst attacks and shots on goal averages in the league (with even Burnley, for example, having more), which means they are clearly missing a deadly goal scorer like Lukaku was.
On the other hand, they are also one of the worst defences in the Premier League, with 11 goals conceded (only Crystal Palace, Watford and Leicester have conceded more).
As for Burnley, they are having a peaceful start to their campaign, getting, on their 6 matches, about a fourth of the points needed, theoretically,
to avoid relegation, which is their main goal. That leaves them in a comfortable 9th position, despite not being one of the teams with more goals scored (at all),
but clearly being one of the best defences, having inclusively been able to get fantastic results against Tottenham and Liverpool, for example.
Everton vs Burnley – Betting Tip and Prediction:
Considering the terrible defensive record of Koeman’s team (and not only in the Premier League, since even this last Thursday they’ve conceded 2 goals against a modest team from Cyprus),
I think Burnley has real chances to score a goal in this match, even because they have been able to do it against the stronger teams, despite being bossed in offensive terms.
Besides that, Dyche’s team was able to score in every match away from home, having a total of 7 goals scored in 4 matches played.
