Chelsea are the current Premier League champions and they will start their title defense here
Last season, they have made an excellent campaign giving practically no chance to their biggest rivals and ended up being deserved champions.
They didn’t play attractive and beautiful football most of the times, but they were solid and efficient.
Chelsea has started this new season with a loss on the Community Shield. They lost on penalties, after a 1-1 draw in regulation.
The blues were in the lead for the most part of the match but in the last minutes, playing with 10 men, they couldn’t handle the pressure to protect their lead and the Gunners scored to tie the match, and then won on penalties.
Chelsea has some new faces, with the most well-known one being Morata, Spanish forward that came from Real Madrid.
Eden Hazard is still missing for this match.
Burnley are going to fight not to get relegated in this Premier League season and in my opinion they may run into some troubles.
They don’t have a very strong squad and mainly on their home matches they should struggle to gain points consistently.
They have made a decent pre-season, with some good results, with their 2-1 over Celta de Vigo standing out.
For this match, Burnley has practically their full roster available and we should see a team playing with deeper lines, giving the initiative to Chelsea, even because the Blues are playing at home and Burnley generally don’t have much ball possession.
Chelsea vs Burnley Pick:
Chelsea and their coach want to quickly forget about the defeat on the Community Shield and start this Premier League on the best possible fashion, since this season is expected to be much more close and balanced than last season.
Even because Chelsea will also have Champions League matches to play, so they will have to split their attentions and resources, just like their direct opponents, which didn’t happen last year where they only had the Premier League.
I’m hoping for a strong start from the Blues imposing their style of play with a lot of intensity and offensive movements, so I think it is a natural consequence of that playstyle that they should be winning at halftime.
The match should be easy and I don’t fancy Burnley to be able to keep up.
