Bournemouth and Brighton open up this Premier League’s match day this Friday…
With these two teams being on the same level, the favouritism has to go for the hosts here, despite them being in bad form.
I should also highlight that this match will be played this Friday and then again on Tuesday, but that time for the League Cup
The hosts have on this match a big chance to finally get some points.
The team started the season very poorly with 4 losses, having 0 points alongside with Crystal Palace.
To make matters worse, they are the 2nd worst defence (tied with 3 other clubs) with 8 goals conceded, and the 2nd worst attack, only having 1 goal scored, against Manchester City.
Despite the 4 losses, I must say they didn’t face particularly easy opponents.
They had 2 natural losses against Arsenal and Man City, with the loss to Arsenal being a mauling but with the one to City being really close, only conceding the decisive goal in injury time.
Before that, they could have done more against Watford, since they were playing at home, but the other loss was away at West Brom, which is an understandable loss.
However, on this match they really have to win, otherwise I predict some quick changes on the managerial job, which would be a mistake since Eddie Howe is the right man for the job and maybe even for higher flights, in my opinion.
The roster isn’t spectacular, not even close in my opinion, but with Begovic in goal, Ake in defence, Gosling and Ibe in the midfield and Benik Afobe and Defoe as strikers,
the goals (and the wins) will have to appear. It won’t be easy to stay in the Premier League but on this match they have to go for the win, the 3 points.
As for Brighton, they finally were promoted to the Premier League after several tries on the last few years and staying up won’t be easy for them either, as we could understand after their start of the season.
The team has 4 points after 4 matches, thanks to 1 win and 1 draw, with those 4 matches not being exactly easy as well.
First they hosted City, so it was a natural loss. They also had an equally tough trip to Leicester which ended in a loss.
After that they improved, drawing on a tough ground like Watford’s and winning at home against West Brom.
Just like their next opponent, they weren’t able to win on the league cup between those matches. The roster doesn’t seem to be good enough to win this encounter, and to stay in the top tier of English football.
Bournemouth vs Brighton – Betting Tip and Prediction:
For this match, just like I hinted before, I only expect a win from the home side.
The team is certainly eager to win and this opponent is ideal for them to accomplish that at this stage, not only because Brighton is an inferior team
but also because they are still adapting to the Premier League and looking to improve their results.
Therefore, my bet is on a home win, but since the hosts aren’t very confident, I’ll play a bit safer, and go with the Draw No Bet.
