Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets – NBA: Nets and Celtics close out 2017 looking for another victory, although the objectives of these two sides are very different at this stage.
The Nets are in 13th place of the Eastern Conference, with a record of 13 wins and 22 losses, which is similar to the Hornets and the Bulls, and puts them above the Magic and the Hawks.
On their last 10 matches, they’ve won 3 and lost 7, although they are coming off a comfortable win on the road, in Miami. However, when they’ve been losing, they’ve been losing by big margins, and I believe that will happen again tonight.
On the road, they’ve won 6 times and lost in 12 occasions, and this will be their 5th straight game on the road, where they’ve only won 1. Lin and Russel are the absences for tonight.
The Celtics are still resisting and holding on to the 1st place of this Conference. The team has a 29-10 record, being followed closely by the Raptors and the Cavaliers, but so far they have the situation under control.
On their last 10 matches, they’ve won only 6 of them, not being on the best streak of the season, but that ends up being a reflection of the entire conference that has either similar or worst records, except for the Bulls.
However, everyone is on a winning streak, unlike the teams on the Western Conference. I should also highlight the Celtics’ last match, where they have beaten the Rockets by 1 point after trailing by 27 points.
Playing at home, they’ve won 15 games and have lost 5, with their last loss being against the Wizards by 8 points. The team is still without Hayward and Ojeleye is still doubtful.
Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets – Betting Tip and Prediction:
The Celtics have already beaten the Nets by 7 points this season and tonight I believe they will do even better.
The team has maybe recovered some of its lost motivation after the great win over the Rockets, and they will want to take advantage of the Cavaliers’ loss yesterday in the best possible way.
The team defends well and on the attack, they will face a terrible team that concedes an average of 110 points per match.
I don’t believe that on this New Year’s Eve, the Nets will stand stall against the Conference leaders, so my bet will be on the Celtics to win with a -10.5 Handicap.
