Bétis has lost two key players, in Dani Ceballos, who signed for Real Madrid because of an excellent showing at the EURO U21, and Ruben Castro.
Real Bétis: Bétis are usually on the relegation fight and can’t aim at higher flights, even because they are still trying to stabilize in La Liga, after some shaky years where they were promoted, and then relegated.
Despite their two big losses, they have also reinforced well and provided the return to Spanish football to Javí Garcia, who arrived from Zenit, Cristian Tello and Guardado.
They started their La Liga campaign at Barcelona, and despite the troubled phase that Barça is on, they didn’t give this Bétis much chances and ended up winning with a deserved 2-0 result.
Celta de Vigo: The team from Galicia had a poor start in La Liga, by losing 2-3 with Real Sociedad at home.
When everything was looking well on track for Celta to gain their first 3 points, they had some disastrous final 10 minutes of the match and allowed their opponents to come back and win.
Looking at Celta de Vigo’s team, they seem perfectly capable to get a respectable position in La Liga, having a peaceful campaign, safe from relegation, but not a lot more than that. They don’t have a squad to fight for the European spots in my opinion.
I believe that offensively the team depended heavily on Iago Aspas and I think that they should have reinforced their squad with a good goal scorer, because with Aspas out, there aren’t many quality options remaining.
Defensively, they’ve also made some mistakes on their first match, but being at this early stage of the season, these mistakes can be forgiven until the ideas and defensive processes settle down and the players adapt to the manager’s style.
Betis vs Celta de Vigo Betting Tip:
This match will put two teams who have lost in the 1st La Liga matchday head to head. Betis had an expectable loss, because losing in Barcelona was almost certain.
But Celta de Vigo, playing at home, against Real Sociedad, should have done more, especially after being in the lead until the final 10 minutes of the match.
On this encounter, I expect a lot of balance between the two sides, who are both looking for their first points this season.
Bétis should look for the win more consistently but Celta de Vigo has enough conditions to bother this Bétis side.
The home advantage can help balance both sides, but the team from Vigo shouldn’t lose this match and should correct the mistakes they made on the 1st match.
A draw will do for both teams on this match and at these odds, I think it is well worth the risk.
